Call for projects – The presented projects at the workshops

We are pleased to announce varied projects from all over Europe. Today, “Berlin: The Inner City Model School Initiative” (Workshop III):

In recent years, economic difficulties, increasing pauperization and migration; have caused changes in the social structure of some of Berlin's districts, often worsened by ethnic problems. In order to achieve a lasting improvement of the situation, it was decided to complement the community work through school development support for eight inner urban schools in extremely deprived areas, where the majority of students have a migration background.
The project is based on a systemic approach to address educationally disadvantaged groups. It aims at building a supportive and democratic school community for children and their families and it is closely linked to neighborhood initiatives.

The project will be presented by Dr Ulrike Wolff- Jontofsohn, Free University Berlin / University of Education, Germany
